How to Spend Thanksgiving in Jackson Hole.
So you’ve decided to spend Thanksgiving in Jackson Hole and are wondering what to do. We have planned out your entire day so that you don’t have to worry where you are going to eat and how are you are going to entertain yourself. Afterall, November in Jackson Hole is a quiet time of year where the locals come out of hiding…smart of you to avoid those tourists!
To start the day, plan to get a coffee and bagel at Pearl St and head to the town square for the annual Turkey Trot at 8:45AM. You can, of course, run this, but most of us will be walking in various “outfits.” Tu-tus are alwasy a fun choice!
If you come from a family whose tradition is to eat a large buffet during the day, we would recommend you immediately head over to the Wort Hotel for their annual Thanksgiving buffet. We would recommend making a reservation as this is a popular spot! The buffet goes from 11AM to 4 PM and has everything from turkey and lamb to seafood and prime rib. If you want a Thanksgiving buffet meal with a view, we would strongly recommend the Granary whose views of the Tetons are breathtaking.
You would, of course spend the rest of the day in a food coma. A nice walk along the river dikes on the Snake River on HWY 22 might help with that! Just watch out for the moose who are also likely in a food coma from all the willow!
If you prefer an evening meal, there are a couple of other great spots in Jackson Hole for a Thanksgiving meal. You can try the Four Seasons, whose Thanksgiving buffet goes from noon to 8PM and includes a wide variety of food and stations. Just looking at the menu makes you salivate! You can also try Teton Pines and go for an evening sitting at 4:30. This is also an expansive buffet with some of the best deserts in town!
If you are eating in the evening, you could find a nice light lunch at Pearl St. Market or watch some football at Sidewinders. You also stop by our office at 270 West Pearl Ave to look at your future dream home!
You can have everything you want out of your Thanksgiving in Jackson Hole. Just ask and we can help direct you in the right path!
