Great Cross-Country Ski Trails in Jackson Hole
It’s snowing in Jackson Hole! If you have just bought some Jackson Hole Real Estate, you may want to know where to stretch out those summer legs to find some great cross-country ski trails in Jackson Hole. We have a handful of great trails to try out before you venture into the backcountry.
At any of the golf courses in town and over in Teton Valley, Idaho, there are well-groomed trails that vary in difficulty. You can, of course, rent gear at a few of them and can also try out skate-skiing and snow-shoeing. Teton Pines, for example, allows you to rent gear and is an expansive course out in Wilson. There are some beautiful views up at Golf and Tennis and some great rolling hills over at Teton Springs near Victor, ID. Watch out for moose!
Teton Pathways grooms several bike paths, open fields and well-established trails on both sides of the pass. Cache Creek is a great, easy to access trail in Jackson that gradually climbs the canyon. Teton Canyon, over at the base of the Grand Teton in Alta, WY, is a pleasant drive away and includes nice views of the Tetons. Lastly, the bike path out in Wilson is easy to access as is the high school field which is perfect for an afternoon tour.
Our personal favorites include the ungroomed Moose-Wilson room that can be accessed from the Granite Canyon trailhead, the inner-park road of Grand Teton National Park, and the Trail Creek Cross-Country track which is most challening and breathtaking. All of these trails either have breathtaking views, are quiet, have wildlife, and can be challenging. They also make great adventures!
